SO I haven't updated my journal since I first started here, and I figured this would be a pretty significant time to do so.

I gots a new lenz! 55-300 Pentax DA somethin' rather. I lover her to death! Umm, what else?

I'm very tempted to quit my job, join up with some missionary group, and travel to Africa. I've had this dream of going to Ghana for the last couple years, but my stupid job (and need for money) keeps getting in the way. I guess I'm sort of fed up with working to pay for schooling so that I can get a good job to make more money. It seems as though every single aspect of my life is dictated by my need for money, and I don't like it. Not one bit! I also hate working with food, so that might have something to do with it. If I could get a decent job that had some relevance to photography, I would be SO happy.

Thanks to all those who watch me! I <3 you guys (and gals ;) )!!!

Peace, Love, and God Bless!

Me!

Well, I'm into the well now... I picked up a Pentax K100D from a friend (for a GREAT price) and I'm hooked. I don't know much about photography, and I'm the "trial-and-error" kind of guy, so I've been learning by taking a whole wack load of pictures and checking out other people's work. I've noticed a trend in that a month ago, I would take a couple hundred pictures in a day of shooting, and I'd maybe keep 75 or so... But recently, I've only been taking 75-ish, and keeping 50 or so. I think that as the excitement of owning a new camera wears off, one becomes a lot more selective in what they shoot. I guess you also get better at shooting, and have less of a need for taking a bunch of exposures and then choosing the best. I've also found that I'm much happier with my fewer shots than I was with my mass amounts a month back. It also take a heck of a lot less time to sort through them all! :P

Well, I'm going to go head out to Piper's Lagoon now, and see if I can get some good shots of the sunset!
